Grateful for a warm day.

“As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common, everyday blessings of our common everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful. They are the things that fill our lives with comfort and our hearts with gladness — just the pure air to breathe and the strength to breath it; just warmth and shelter and home folks; just plain food that gives us strength; the bright sunshine on a cold day; and a cool breeze when the day is warm.”

― Laura Ingalls Wilder, Writings to Young Women from Laura Ingalls Wilder – Volume One: On Wisdom and Virtues

Ahhh today is warm! Actually, properly, warm. The sunshine is revitalizing. I’m so grateful I live somewhere that has spring. Like the flowers I find myself moving my face to the sunshine.

  1. after the bitter cold winter that went on for what seems like forever you deserved the sun and warmth. We had a few hot days last week in Shanghai…. and sun. It does just lift the spirits. After 3 months with little sun due to rain, overcast or bad air days I find myself seeking it out, like a cat, even sitting in windows in that little patch of goodness

      1. Oh no snow! Well not much better here. We went from 31 a few days ago to 9c! It was raining and damp… so it felt colder. All the blossoms that survived the last cold didn’t survive this cold, rain and wind 😦
