I love watching the sky. In July I did a post featuring that month’s two full moons. And when I saw the subject for this weeks Photo Challenge I knew that I’d use photos from Sunday’s lunar eclipse. My camera is old (as far as digital cameras go) but it was such an amazing event to witness so I’m sharing my slightly fuzzy photos 😉
It was so big and bright. The “moon-bow” was a beautiful start to the evening.
“Moonlight drowns out all but the brightest stars.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings
It’s just amazing watching our view of the moon change from big and bright to dark and matte.
The change in colour was the most awe inspiring part of the event.
“Do not swear by the moon, for she changes constantly. then your love would also change.”
― William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Change.”
Calgary was cloudy. Shame since the day was clear until just before sunset. That is rare since it is usually clear skies here 😦 I did manage to see it just at the end, but missed the colour. Funny since last year there was one in Shanghai and it is ALWAYS cloudy there and it cleared just in time for me to get a perfect view and great shots.
