This little treasure blooms in my garden late spring. She peeks out just before the summer arrives but you have to look carefully. She’s almost hidden by the taller flowers growing around her.
I’m not sure what type of flower she is. I think some type of orchid but I’ve planted several flowers in my garden just because they’re pretty. Having a name doesn’t add to that beauty or add to the joy of watching them grow.
This past June was a difficult month where I had to actively look for the bright spots. Much like this flower… When you look for the little joys you find big surprises.
I used my Samsung Gallaxy S3 to capture these photos. Kindly visit Lens and Pens by Sally to see other natures photos from this weeks theme: nature.
Here’s how the Phoneography Challenge works:
1. Each Monday a theme will be posted. You can publish your entry at any time, preferably on Monday or by Sunday of the week of the theme. Please add any information about the entry (apps, brand of phone…).

It’s a small jewel that certainly brought me joy. And I’n glad that you could too. How marvelous that you discovered this small beauty. Everything about it cheers the spirit: those fluffy purple parts that bring the best out in the stamens. Isn’t Mother Nature fabulous. Happy Photo Challenge.
