Shot in the Air – Evanescent [a WP Photo Challenge]

This challenge is wide open. Evanescent can be any fleeting moment in time. It could be the moment you drop a seed into your garden, marking that promise of new growth to come. It could be a photo of the Eastern Phoebe that visits your deck each day, wagging her tail as she calls her own name. If you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, it could be that carpet of leaves that fell overnight, before the wind scatters them. It might be the moment you light the first fire of Fall.

That moment between transferring energy to the shot put and its landing.

  1. great photo – how far did he throw? did he place? my daughter throws, or threw, for her middle school and took third in discus and shot for her conference… next year she’s off to high school.. it’s evanescent – raising kids, watching them grow, watching them learn, and sometimes stepping back so they can make their own mistakes and learn the hard way….have a wonderful week. peace

    1. This was his 15.27m (4kg) throw that won at our Regional. Last week (I had to miss.) was the qualifier for Provincials. He placed third. He was 2nd in discus for our Regional and 5th for the qualifier.
Yes, it never ceases to amaze me how quickly they grow!
Enjoy having a high school child…I mean young adult
