Smile:-) WP Photo Challenge

Today’s photo is a few years old. The memory of this trip always makes me smile. It was a special trip to one of my happy places.

Share Your World ~ Lots of Giggles

While I often read Cee’s Share Your World post (and the responses from other bloggers) I rarely share. However, Colline’s response involved Disney and that inspired me!

What was or is your favorite cartoon?

I guess my answer depends on a time frame and media.

As a teen, I had my high school locker covered in comics. It was covered in comic strips from Garfield, Calvin & Hobbes and For Better, ForWorse.

As a kid, I loved Scooby Doo on t.v.. Then as a young adult, I spent many hours laughing at Animaniacs on t.v.. Once I move to ‘the big screen’ it gets a little harder to pick! It’s definitely a Disney cartoon movie but… it feels like picking a favourite child! Lion King? Aladdin? Lilo & Stitch? Wall-e ? Brave? Frozen? Peter Pan? Cinderella? Beauty & The Beast?

Which cooking utensil (other than the usual pots and pans etc) would you miss the most?

This is an easier question to answer. My digital meat thermometer! I don’t consider myself a cooker-person, so I’m always second-guessing the doneness of my meat.

Would you dare to sleep in a haunted house overnight?

I agree with Colline here. I couldn’t sleep in a haunted house as they are portrayed on t.v. however, I have stayed in hotels that are said to be haunted. Sadly, with no tale to tell.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?

Little Miss with Eggs.jpgLast weekend even though our daughter is just about finished her second year in university and our son is finishing grade 11 they still want to hunt for eggs. I’m not sure who giggled the most… the kids or my hubby.

The mix of plastic eggs included white eggs! My hubby insisted this was because Sunday was also April Fools Day and he hid the eggs accordingly.

I will post four different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW  post.  Then post the link to your blog in Cee’s comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of Cee’s blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World” or “SYW” tag.
  3. Remember to Follow Cee’s Blog to get your weekly reminders.

I’d rather be…

visiting one of my happy places. The first place that popped into my mind is Walt Disney World.

Then I thought oh oh oh I rather be camping. Do I have to pick just one?

I long to go camping at Rock Point Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada. We already have some reservations for this summer! Can’t wait to help celebrate Ontario Parks 125th!!  http://www.ontarioparks.com/op125

I love the magic of Disney because it gives me such scope for the imagination! I adore the detail and care that is put into creating a place of fun for families; for the young and young at heart. But I equally love the connection to nature. The total relaxation of camping.

“I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.”

― John Burroughs

Yes. I’d rather be visiting Disney or camping! 🙂 What would you rather be doing right now?

#WeekendCoffeeShare – Tears in my Coffee

The kettle is on and the pot of coffee is fresh. Please come on in. I look forward to the company on this windy, grey day.370b0ce89f5cf05b6b740e835f4a6221_wind-blowing-animated-gif-wind-wind-clipart-gif_400-377

I haven’t sat with you for a coffee and chat for many weeks. I’m sorry. I just don’t know where the time is going. Which makes me even sadder.

Life is too damn short to not take make the time to sit and have coffee with friends.

Today I’m sipping slowing and savoring my favourite ice latte while listening to my hubby play his online game. I am intensely grateful that I get to do this today. So much so I can almost physically feel it.

My son’s best friend lost his Dad last night to cancer. This wonderful man was kind and generous… full of laughter. My heart breaks for my son’s friend, for his siblings, his family and for his Mom. My heart is aching for my son. How do I help him help his friend?

This past week was thankfully full of family time. Last weekend’s Thanksgiving dinner, wandering the craft shows with my hubby and kids, out to a play at the Shaw Festival with my sister & brother-in-law. I also got to watch my son, his friend and their team play and win a football game. His friend was so happy … he got a sac and his jersey was signed by his Dad. It was a good day for football and a good memory.

Who did you spend your week with?

Thank you for stopping by.

It said “Drink Me”

I adore my coneflowers and I can’t resist taking photos of them. However yesterday I was really aware that I take the “same” photo over and over.

While trying different angles it occurred to me…the front facing camera to see what I was aiming at while under the bloom. Taking flower ‘selfies’ are definitely unusual for me!
