Today’s post comes from Roger LaFontaine, park naturalist, classically trained biologist and amateur lake monster researcher. He has spent nearly two decades researching and documenting the occurrence of mysterious creatures in Ontario. We think that we know our lakes and rivers well, but, in reality, we have barely scratched the surface. Unknown to us, the … Continue reading Lake monsters in Ontario Parks
visiting one of my happy places. The first place that popped into my mind is Walt Disney World.
Then I thought oh oh oh I rather be camping. Do I have to pick just one?
I long to go camping at Rock Point Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada. We already have some reservations for this summer! Can’t wait to help celebrate Ontario Parks 125th!! http://www.ontarioparks.com/op125
I love the magic of Disney because it gives me such scope for the imagination! I adore the detail and care that is put into creating a place of fun for families; for the young and young at heart. But I equally love the connection to nature. The total relaxation of camping.

Yes. I’d rather be visiting Disney or camping! 🙂 What would you rather be doing right now?

I try to be mindful of many of these tips but what jumped out as I read these tips was
11 – Buying a DSLR and never learning how to use it.
This happens a lot, people spend a lot of money on buying a DSLR and then use it on auto all the time, which in the end means it is a very expensive and large compact camera. It is best if you buy one that you do learn how to use it to it’s best ability, really see what you can do with it.
This holds true for every camera. Many of us use our phone’s camera. I enjoy the photos where I’ve selected manual much more!
My goal over the next while is to learn more about how to use the features that my Asus ZenFone 3 Laser. I’ve had it for almost a year now and sort of used various features. It has yet to impress me. In fact, recently I pulled my old Window’s phone out to use it’s camera when I went to visit the frozen Niagara Falls because my Asus couldn’t handle more than 5 minutes in the cold and was taking meh photos. (I am always fighting with focus on this phone’s camera.)
I hope you enjoy Leanne’s article as much as I have. There’s a lot of useful information!
Among the many things that made last weekend wonderful was the sense of wonder that I felt visiting the butterflies, Niagara Falls and the floral showcase.
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted

I am so grateful for feeling that sense of wonder. It felt like … there was magic in the air.
Surrounded by soft wings that floated, swirled, sat still and soaked in the sunshine. It’s incredibly peaceful and soothing in there!
Then we were next to the thundering of water. It was as loud as the butterflies were quiet. The make-you-feel-tiny volume of water will always amaze me.
Our final stop that day was to the Floral Showcase. Greenhouses that hold vibrant uplifting displays of colour and soothing, grounding shades of green. Everywhere you turned another leaf or petal caught your imagination.
What brought a smile to you this week?
What are you grateful for?
A beautiful walk. Where did you walk this week?
I had the pleasure of visiting a few of the Niagara Parks Commission attractions this weekend. We took advantage of their WonderPass … great deal by-the-way. No affiliate links here just passing on some savings. “A penny saved is a penny earned.” ~ B. Franklin
I could spend days taking in the colour and texture; the warmth and peacefulness of the Floral Showcase.
Is there somewhere that you walk that you enjoy over and over?
