First to Awaken in my Garden

This year Spring may be taking it’s time to join us in Ontario but my little crocus’ have been peeking out. I am grateful that they are reminding us that while slow, spring is starting to awaken.

#WalkWithMeWednesday – Floral Showcase

A beautiful walk. Where did you walk this week?

Just Breathe

I had the pleasure of visiting a few of the Niagara Parks Commission attractions this weekend. We took advantage of their WonderPass … great deal by-the-way. No affiliate links here just passing on some savings. “A penny saved is a penny earned.” ~ B. Franklin

I could spend days taking in the colour and texture; the warmth and peacefulness of the Floral Showcase.

Is there somewhere that you walk that you enjoy over and over?

It said “Drink Me”

I adore my coneflowers and I can’t resist taking photos of them. However yesterday I was really aware that I take the “same” photo over and over.

While trying different angles it occurred to me…the front facing camera to see what I was aiming at while under the bloom. Taking flower ‘selfies’ are definitely unusual for me!

Grateful for summer plants

I’m a messy gardener. You’ll find weeds and wildflowers and grasses in my garden. Partly because they grow better than the plants I’ve put in my garden. Partly because they’re good for the local bees and butterflies.

I usually enjoy making a variety of container gardens but this year I decided to spend the money on a new cell phone. I wasn’t going to buy any plants for my front porch but…

They called to me. I just didn’t find my porch “done” without something growing. So I just happened to bring home some portulaca (very heat and drought resistant) and a couple huge coleus for the shady spot underneath. I’ll share some more photos when the portulaca blooms.P_20170609_124416_vHDR_Auto

Digging in the dirt is so relaxing. Perfect for a warm June afternoon.

How do you unwind? What are you grateful for?

Grateful for the scent of Spring

Ahhh… I love when you can smell spring in the air!

The temperatures may rise and fall but it isn’t Spring until you can smell it in the rain and the garden.

Earlier this week it came up in conversation that I consider my spring flowers old friends. I look forward to their return each year. This year we’ve been blessed with wonderful weather and my garden is bursting with joy. (minus a few taken by the squirrels).

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. ~ Marcel Proust

I’m so grateful for the beauty that I can see and smell; that I can enjoy each day.

What has brought a smile to your week? What are you grateful for this week?

Last week Colline’s Blog was grateful for Parent Input.

Just Breathe and Be Thankful was grateful for the warm weather.
