First to Awaken in my Garden

This year Spring may be taking it’s time to join us in Ontario but my little crocus’ have been peeking out. I am grateful that they are reminding us that while slow, spring is starting to awaken.

Share Your World ~ Lots of Giggles

While I often read Cee’s Share Your World post (and the responses from other bloggers) I rarely share. However, Colline’s response involved Disney and that inspired me!

What was or is your favorite cartoon?

I guess my answer depends on a time frame and media.

As a teen, I had my high school locker covered in comics. It was covered in comic strips from Garfield, Calvin & Hobbes and For Better, ForWorse.

As a kid, I loved Scooby Doo on t.v.. Then as a young adult, I spent many hours laughing at Animaniacs on t.v.. Once I move to ‘the big screen’ it gets a little harder to pick! It’s definitely a Disney cartoon movie but… it feels like picking a favourite child! Lion King? Aladdin? Lilo & Stitch? Wall-e ? Brave? Frozen? Peter Pan? Cinderella? Beauty & The Beast?

Which cooking utensil (other than the usual pots and pans etc) would you miss the most?

This is an easier question to answer. My digital meat thermometer! I don’t consider myself a cooker-person, so I’m always second-guessing the doneness of my meat.

Would you dare to sleep in a haunted house overnight?

I agree with Colline here. I couldn’t sleep in a haunted house as they are portrayed on t.v. however, I have stayed in hotels that are said to be haunted. Sadly, with no tale to tell.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?

Little Miss with Eggs.jpgLast weekend even though our daughter is just about finished her second year in university and our son is finishing grade 11 they still want to hunt for eggs. I’m not sure who giggled the most… the kids or my hubby.

The mix of plastic eggs included white eggs! My hubby insisted this was because Sunday was also April Fools Day and he hid the eggs accordingly.

I will post four different questions each week for you to answer.  There are two ways which you can participate.

  1. Create a SYW  post.  Then post the link to your blog in Cee’s comment box or leave your answers in the comments box of Cee’s blog.
  2. To make it easy for others to check out your photos, title your blog post “Share Your World” or “SYW” tag.
  3. Remember to Follow Cee’s Blog to get your weekly reminders.

… a sense of wonder

Among the many things that made last weekend wonderful was the sense of wonder that I felt visiting the butterflies, Niagara Falls and the floral showcase.

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted

I am so grateful for feeling that sense of wonder. It felt like … there was magic in the air.

Surrounded by soft wings that floated, swirled, sat still and soaked in the sunshine. It’s incredibly peaceful and soothing in there!

Then we were next to the thundering of water. It was as loud as the butterflies were quiet. The make-you-feel-tiny volume of water will always amaze me.WP_20180303_13_25_54_Pro

Our final stop that day was to the Floral Showcase. Greenhouses that hold vibrant uplifting displays of colour and soothing, grounding shades of green.  Everywhere you turned another leaf or petal caught your imagination.

What brought a smile to you this week?

What are you grateful for?

#WeekendCoffeeShare ~ WHERE did the time go?

If we were having coffee…

Come on in. Actually, lets grab a blanket and sit on the porch. It is Earth Day, so we should be out there enjoying our planet!earth day 2

Would you like a coffee or tea?

It seems like yesterday that I was fussing about the cost of socks and wondering how I was going to adjust to my daughter living away from home.  Yet here I am with ONE MORE SLEEP until I get to go pick her up from university. I lived and she thrived!

Actually, I feel like these past several months that she’s not the only one who grew. She’s a young lady now with a hint of the little girl 😉 I feel like I’m adjusting to this new stage of ‘me’. In January I decided to make a separate blog that more of a journal and I’m enjoying my regular posts there. I’ve had a blog for my yarn art (crochet) for a while now. I find it easier to organize visually with separate blogs than having different pages here.

Can I top up your beverage? Do you want an extra blanket?

canada150_lapelpin_largeHere at Patchwork Ponderings, I’m enjoying the freedom of sharing whatever catches my interest. Did you know that Canada’s Constitution and Charter of Rights are 35 years old this week? In my Grateful for… weekly post, I shared about a neighbour cleaning our wooded area and a stranger’s kind words.

I’m still feeling the delightful surprise that she stopped me to tell me that she liked my dress. I was feeling self-conscious yet proud of me. I haven’t blogged about it on Just Breathe yet but I hit a milestone in my weight loss journey this week and that lovely stranger just put the shine on an already special week.

Thanks for stopping by. What has added to your happiness this week?  Kindly visit Nerd in the Brain to find the link up, where you’ll find more blogs to share a coffee with.
