Grateful for colourful blanket

I am making a blanket for a client this week. It’s a bright, cheery happy blanket. I love working with this yarn so much that I think I’ll have to make a blanket for myself after I finish hers.

The colours and the soft texture have brightened a long and almost gloomy week.

This week I’m grateful for bright yarn and how it has distracted me from the other ‘stuff’ this week.

This yarn just felt like I was finding Easter eggs! It reminds me of the soon to come spring flowers!

What are you grateful for this week?

Grateful for a new challenge

Over the past week I’ve started a new crochet project. I haven’t tried one this complicated 20160407_153407before. There’s a lot of detailed instructions to follow.  It’s good to have something new yet familiar to spend time doing. I’m grateful that I have lots to learn in a hobby that I love.

I’m not too far into it but if you’d like a peek I posted about it in my crochet blog. Crochet Kisses and Butterfly Kisses.

What are you grateful for this week?

Colline posted about being grateful for woodworking!

Grateful for this series of blog posts.

What I love about adding a ‘grateful for’ post each week is it allows me to ponder the week past, push the nagging stuff aside and focus on the important stuff.

Just like the saying “you are what you eat”…you are what you think. If you want to be happy and grateful, you have to mindfully decide each day to be happy. Look for the little moments that make the day. The shape of a cloud in a blue sky. The taste of your first sip of coffee. The giggle of a child in the next aisle.

This week I’m focusing on the birthday’s we celebrated. My littlest nephew turned 5 and my baby sister turned… a year more beautiful. It was wonderful watching my kids patiently play with their younger cousin. (and a little amusing to see how tired he made them!)

Kindly visit Colline’s blog to read about what she was grateful for this week.

edit: This post is my 500th!!!!! I can’t think of a better post to celebrate my bloggin journey!
