Grateful for unexpected weather.

The other day I went to pick up our daughter. (Which was reason enough to be happy!)

another trip but just as beautiful of day!

This trip I went by myself since hubby had other tasks. The drive was beautiful. A sunny spring-like day with hardly any traffic on the highway. I got to pick and randomly change music as it suited me AND have it at the volume I wanted 🙂

Yesterday was also beautiful but I was focused on preparing for our son’s birthday party! More reasons to be grateful! Our son is growing into a wonderful young man. I’m soooo proud of him. And we got to celebrate him with our family. An evening of laughter and love… I’m feeling so blessed.

Which brings me to this morning. Today the sun is shining, our windows are open letting in the fresh air. I’m listening to the choir of birds their song seems to echo my happiness. I’m grateful for this quiet (can’t say quiet..the birds are loud! lol) peaceful morning.

I’m so grateful for many people and things this unseasonably warm Family Day weekend.

What are you grateful for this week? I’d love to hear about it.

Sally D’s Mobile Photography Photo Challenge: Nature ~ Spring peeking in

It’s a beautiful day today!

While you can’t quite smell Spring coming yet, there are a couple little signs of spring popping up this beautiful sunny day.

spring peeking

I love crocus’  They seem to pop up just as I’m tired of winter and longing for spring. They’re like tiny, warm smiles of encouragement!

Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge: Black n White

I pondered using this photo for the WP Weekly challenge since it’s a little creepy but I like this photo because of how well it turned out on my Nokia Lumia.

I started taking photos of the morning dew on the pine tree beside this tree. As the sun peeked though the trees a little more we saw about a dozen spider webs. It was a fun photography moment and we were happy that these guys kept the bugs from our camping site in Rock Point Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada.

Grateful for a warm day.

“As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common, everyday blessings of our common everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful. They are the things that fill our lives with comfort and our hearts with gladness — just the pure air to breathe and the strength to breath it; just warmth and shelter and home folks; just plain food that gives us strength; the bright sunshine on a cold day; and a cool breeze when the day is warm.”

― Laura Ingalls Wilder, Writings to Young Women from Laura Ingalls Wilder – Volume One: On Wisdom and Virtues

Ahhh today is warm! Actually, properly, warm. The sunshine is revitalizing. I’m so grateful I live somewhere that has spring. Like the flowers I find myself moving my face to the sunshine.
