I’d rather be…

visiting one of my happy places. The first place that popped into my mind is Walt Disney World.

Then I thought oh oh oh I rather be camping. Do I have to pick just one?

I long to go camping at Rock Point Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada. We already have some reservations for this summer! Can’t wait to help celebrate Ontario Parks 125th!!  http://www.ontarioparks.com/op125

I love the magic of Disney because it gives me such scope for the imagination! I adore the detail and care that is put into creating a place of fun for families; for the young and young at heart. But I equally love the connection to nature. The total relaxation of camping.

― John Burroughs

Yes. I’d rather be visiting Disney or camping! 🙂 What would you rather be doing right now?

Grateful for a small gift.

20170322_153914I was enjoying a virtual visit to Walt Disney World via my friend’s tales on social media when I asked if she stopped by the Canada pavilion in EPCOT. I saw earlier this year that they were sharing this button with guests. I knew I’d be upset if I missed out on the button as a souvenir.

Fast forward a few days later … I received a mystery message saying “check your mailbox”.

😀 I was thrilled that she thought to share this with me. Two of my favourite things on one button. Canada and Disney ❤

This week I am grateful for an unexpected gift.

What are you grateful for?

“As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common, everyday blessings of our common everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful. They are the things that fill our lives with comfort and our hearts with gladness — just the pure air to breathe and the strength to breath it; just warmth and shelter and home folks; just plain food that gives us strength; the bright sunshine on a cold day; and a cool breeze when the day is warm.”

Travel Theme: Dark

Looking through my photos I see very few ‘dark’ photos (at least photos that are dark on purpose lol) I had to wander back to our trip to Walt Disney World last year to find these.

My daughter and I took lots of photos before and during the evening show, Illuminations at EPCOT. The show is best known for it’s amazing light show. However, you can’t appreaciate the lights without the darkness.

And what trip to Disney would be complete withour the Castle? We were sitting behind the castle waiting for a different view of the evening fireworks. I was playing with the different settings on my phone. I like how the lights on the Castle seem dark here.

By the way… If you’ve been to Walt Disney World a few times and your not in a hurry to leave after the fireworks; being behind the Castle was a unique view. We were surrounded by fireworks. Some are right next to the Castle and others are from farther back. We were at the benches outside the washrooms by Pinocchio Village Haus. Mind you, I liked it but my daughter was disappointed. She loves the traditional view.
